CCRAS - Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Ahmedabad

The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Ahmedabad, a research unit of CCRAS, New Delhi, is dedicated to promoting and undertaking scientific research in Ayurveda, with a special focus on the prevention and management of skin disorders. Established in 2007 through the amalgamation of three research centres, the Institute was renamed Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Skin Disorders in 2016. The Institute provides comprehensive patient-care facilities through its NABH-accredited OPD (General, Geriatric, Marma-Chikitsa, Skin) NABL-accredited laboratory, Pharmacy, Dispensary, Panchakarma Unit, and Library. The Institute is also BIS certified. The Institute conducts evidence-based clinical research in Ayurveda and collaborates with AYUSH systems, dermatology departments, academic institutions, and other scientific organizations. Recently, Yoga facilities have also been introduced for patients, promoting an integrated and holistic approach to health and well-being.

The Institute’s vision is to become an institution of excellence in the science of Ayurveda through research, treatment and the dissemination of knowledge. Guided by this vision and the mission of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the Institute strive to conduct quality research, provide dependable Ayurveda care through our OPD services, and make Ayurvedic knowledge accessible to the community.

The Institute is occupied with Literary, Fundamental and Clinical Research, Public Health Research programmes and community outreach. Through these efforts, we seek to address health needs, strengthen the evidence base for Ayurveda and encourage its informed use in everyday life.

The Institute remain committed to contributing to CCRAS’s goal of a dynamic and vibrant research organisation in Ayurveda.

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) is an autonomous body of the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), Government of India. It is an apex body in India for the formulation, coordination, development and promotion of research on scientific lines in Ayurveda and Sowa-Rigpa system of medicine.
